Hana Al Makkawy is a freelance dance teacher and choreographer whose dance journey began at the age of five. She has trained extensively across the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, developing diverse and well-rounded training in dance. Since the age of 15, Hana has been a dedicated member of Fusion Arts, first as a senior student and later as a student assistant. Hana earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater with a minor in Music from New York University Abu Dhabi. Alongside her performance training, she developed a strong passion for choreography from an early age, creating original works that combine storytelling, movement, and artistic vision. Her choreographic credits include Amplify, her capstone project, which she conceived, directed, and choreographed, as well as the halftime performance for NYU Abu Dhabi’s Interclassico football match. She continues to create independent passion projects and concept videos that showcase her creative voice. Additional professional credits include performing at the Opening Ceremony for EXPO’s ICOM, choreographing Diana Donatella’s music video She’s Dancing For Her Life, choreographing the musical What A Pitch! for Short+Sweet, serving as a Competition Judge for Dubai Desert Dance (February 2026), and working as Stage Manager for Soultrotter’s The Main Circle performance. Currently, Hana serves as a dance teacher and Head Coach of the Attitude Dance Club at NYU Abu Dhabi. She has also stage managed numerous recitals and performances for both NYU Abu Dhabi and Fusion Arts, demonstrating her versatility both on and behind the stage. Passionate about the transformative power of dance, Hana believes in its ability to inspire, connect, and create meaningful impact for both performers and audiences alike.
